What Training Events We Offer

All Drone Data Solutions follow this generic workflow for any sensor.  Enterprises using drones need more than knowing how to fly.   Understanding the capabilities and limitations of the sensor in flight and in different environmental conditions is critical, not only to flight safety but the cost and work efficiency.   Flying outside these limits adds confusion for real-time operations and costly labor increases in data correction and processing.  Once collected many applications require correction to remove noise, error, and null information.  Analysis segments the data to create layers to allow data to be fused with other information and transformed into a decisional aid.  Finally, this information must be delivered so that it may be used by the end user.  Holding all this together is standards, both user-defined and industry defined.

Drone Operators and Data Analysts both need a good understanding the process and standard.  Further Managers, Executives, Contracting and procurement officers, and Information Officers need to develop an appreciation for how this information is collected and processed for two reasons, to know how to utilize this information as business intelligence and understand what drones and data are doing for business.

Drone Operator Training (DOT)

These training events will be in the field data collection.

DOT Events focus on:

Light Detection and Range (LiDAR) Data Training

Intro to LiDAR (DATA –L101)

The Light Detection and Range (LiDAR) Primer course introduces students to the LiDAR sub-discipline of technically-derived intelligence.  Students will learn the capabilities and limitations of using Light Detection and Range data and will be introduced to spectral phenomenology, applications and products.  L101 is lecture based and does not involve exploitation using the software.  One day webinar course.

PREREQUISITE : NONE

AUDIENCE: Drone Operators, Geospatial Analysts or General Consumers (Decision Makers, Producers, and Consumers).

LiDAR High-Resolution Terrain Mapping (DATA –L201)

This course is a follow-on to DATA –L101 introduction course, and is designed to provide students with a deeper understanding of LiDAR processing and analysis techniques. A student will learn how to prepare raw data and condition for variety visualization, poly-mesh, TIN analysis, and produce bare earth digital elevation maps and contours.  Students will learn how to do volume and sedimentation measurement.  This course will prepare the student for more advanced classification and digital exploitation techniques. 3-day course.

LiDAR for Vegetation Classification (DATA –L202)

The course builds on the LiDAR interpretation/ manipulation techniques and processes taught in the DATA –L201, with advanced point classification and digital enhancement techniques, display and exploitation of Imagery, Terrain Categorization, and Fly Through Techniques, with an emphasis on point cloud colorization. 3-day course

PREREQUISITE : DATA –L201

Thermal Data Training

Intro to Thermal Operations (DOT-T101)

This hands-on 3-day course will show you the application of thermography from the air and its limitless inspection applications. Topics include Infrared science, sUAS safe operation, applications, cameras for your work focus. Learn how to get the best image from your camera. Apply thermography theory, science, and techniques, including measurement and interpretation of radiometric survey result specific to aerial applications.

AUDIENCE Drone Operators, Geospatial Analysts, Thermographers or General Consumers

Intro to Thermal Analysis (DATA-T101)

Thermography Fundamentals is a 3-day introductory class focusing on the fundamentals of condition monitoring/predictive maintenance for the new thermographer. Collect quality data, accurate temperature readings, and account for measurement effects such as distance and emissivity using infrared cameras. Maximize post-processing software for image analysis, report generation, and video editing.

AUDIENCE: Anyone interested in Thermography

Responder Coordination–Thermal (DOT-T104)

This introductory course 1-day course will show you show you how to use a thermal camera for real-time operations.  Topics will include Infrared science, sUAS safe operation, and camera operations.  Here this course differs from the introductory course is dealing with thermal crossover and high-intensity sources that may prevent seeing team members.  We work with integrating the thermal information into rescue operations. This course is ideal for pre-established teams or organizations.
